We would like to inform you about the sixth Days of Art and Culture, which will be taking place in Horn-Bad Meinberg from August 27th through 29th. In the afternoon of Saturday 28th, four lectures will be held which might be interesting for everyone interested in Thailand and its culture. The session will be opened by two talks presented by the Friends of Thailand, Paderborn. It will kick off at 14.30 with a talk by Mrs. Rawiwan Kaldrack, whom we already have invited to Paderborn in February this year. Along with Suchada Beyer, she will give an insight into the fascinating language and culture of Thailand. The second talk, starting at 15.30, covers traditional Thai herbs and Thai medicine. Suchada Beyer then will discuss the role of medicinal plants both in traditional medicine as well as in the Thai kitchen. At 16.30, the venerable Thitadhammo of Bodhi Vihara monastery, Freising, will elaborate on the role of Buddhism in Europe. Finally, starting at 17.30, Thomas Wagner of the Thai Spa Association Germany e.V. will give a talk on the origins and techniques of traditional Thai massage. The four talks will be held in the presentation room in.ti in the Kurpark. We expect the lecturers to give their audience an interesting insight into the diversity of Thai culture. |
